Chatsworth Kiwanis presented their 37th “Holiday Parade” with the theme “Joy to the World,” on Sunday on a stretch of Devonshire Street stepping off at Jordan Avenue, west of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, and moving east to Lurline Avenue.
The crowd enjoyed waving to parade participants including marching bands, car clubs, equestrians, karate students, drill teams and Santa and Mrs. Claus. The grand marshal was former Dodger catcher Steve Yeager.
Elected officials showing their holiday spirit included Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, Los Angeles City Councilmember John Lee, State Sen. Henry Stern and State Assemblymember Suzette Martinez Valladares. The event was cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The holiday event also included a festival held before and after the parade. It included a live band, community information booths, craft vendors, a children’s zone with bouncers and games, a beer and wine garden and food trucks.
The event was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
