Ya gotta respect the classics.
My generation looks at artists like Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire, George Strait, Randy Travis, and the other legends of ’90s as the heroes that inspired our love of country music.
However, our heroes from the ’90s were inspired by the likes of Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Charley Pride, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, George Jones, and so many others.
And you can go back even further to their heroes… Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers, Kitty Wells… and it just goes on and on, inspiration after inspiration… to the beginning of music.
With that being said, Travis Tritt took the opportunity to pay tribute to his heroes with his new video for “They Don’t Make ‘Em Like That No More,” a song from his 12th studio album, Set In Stone.
The song is a tribute to the classics, paying homage to the likes of Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Charley Pride, and others, in the lyric video, as he sings about all of the things that were better back in the day… including country music.
