The teenager acquitted after shooting three people during anti-racism riots in Wisconsin has asked for his gun back.
Kyle Rittenhouse, 19, killed Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz during the demonstrations in Kenosha in August 2020.
He was cleared of all charges including murder after arguing he fired his gun in self-defence, in a trial which divided America.

Now his lawyers have filed a motion asking prosecutors to return Rittenhouse’s AR15-style rifle and ammunition.
He is also asking for the cloth face mask and clothing he was wearing on the night of the shootings, as well as his mobile phone, and a single $1 bill.

Rittenhouse’s lawyers say the teenager wants to destroy the rifle over fears it could be used to “celebrate” the shootings or used as a trophy or political symbol – and throw the other items away.
The protest in Kenosha occurred as anger erupted over the shooting of Jacob Blake, a black man, by a white police officer.

Rittenhouse, from Illinois, was among 250 people arrested in the days after the violence unfolded.
He handed himself in to police in his hometown of Antioch.
Rittenhouse family spokesman David Hancock said at an earlier hearing: “At the end of the day, two people did lose their lives.
“That weapon was involved in that.

“The weapon doesn’t belong on a mantle. It doesn’t belong in a museum.
“It belongs where Kyle wants it, and Kyle wants it destroyed.”
Mr Hancock added: “There’s plenty of people out there who would like to hold these items up, on both sides.
“That’s nothing Kyle’s interested in.”
Rittenhouse claimed he went to Kenosha to protect property and acted in self-defence after fearing for his life.
Prosecutors branded him a “wannabe soldier” who had been seeking out trouble – while supporters suggested he was fighting against lawlessness.
The verdict sparked fury in the US with widespread violence prompting President Joe Biden to urge the nation to stay calm.
A judge in Wisconsin will hear arguments on Friday over the confiscation of Rittenhouse’s gun.
