Cody Johnson Scores Very First #1 On Country Radio With “‘Til You Can’t”

Music

A huge congratulations are in order for Cody Johnson.

He officially scored his very first #1 on mainstream country radio with “‘Til You Can’t” this weekend.

The song previously hit #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for airplay, streaming, and sales-based songs about a month ago.

But this weekend, it hit #1 on the Mediabase Country Airplay Chart, and is expected to reach #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart tomorrow (Monday).

Those are the two official charts artists and labels use to track their songs performance, and are also the ones they use to celebrate when a tune reaches the top spot:

Co-written by Ben Stennis and Matthew J. Rogers, the song has garnered a total of 160 million global streams and is the lead single from Cody’s fantastic 2021 Human double album.

The Texas native recently became the third performer to ever sell out opening night of RodeoHouston, joining Garth Brooks (2018) and George Strait (2017) as the only other artists who share that accomplishment.

It’s exciting to see Cody bridging the gap between Nashville and Texas so flawlessly, and I have a feeling this is the first of many more mainstream #1’s to come for him in the future.

I mean, you know somebody finally did somethin’ right if CoJo’s topping the country radio charts with such a fantastic song…
