Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 1,263 new cases and 16 more deaths, April 8

California

Los Angeles County public health officials reported 1,263 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 2,843,599 as of Friday, April 8.

Officials reported 16 more deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total of 31,770 deaths since tracking began.

There was two more hospitalizations reported since Thursday, bringing the total count of people hospitalized with coronavirus to 275.

According to the California Department of Public Health’s vaccines dashboard, 75% of Los Angeles County is fully vaccinated.
