Diplo Hints At Collab Between Him, Koe Wetzel And Kodak Black: “We Got Something Big Cooking”

Music

It seems like we might have not only a collaboration between Texas rock star Koe Wetzel and producer Diplo, but it may also include rap star Kodak Back.

Back in March, Koe reposted an Instagram story from Diplo, a well-known DJ and producer, of a photo he took straight from Texas of Koe in the studio with just a simple “fire” emoji.

That was pretty much all the info we got, and they haven’t said much else about it since.

In all honesty, I was wondering if Diplo could be producing a song, was potentially featured on one of the tunes on the tracklist for Koe’s new album, or maybe he just there hangin’ out and fucking around in the studio with his friend.

But, it seems like there might be a whole song coming that also involves Kodak Black. Kodak recently made an Instagram post that Diplo added to his stories, tagging Koe and Kodak, saying:

“We got something big cooking.”

Koe also shared the story himself.

We already know that Koe plans to stick with his signature, more rock leaning sound that we all know and love for this upcoming album before he gets to work on that full-blown country album, so maybe he’s pulling out all the stops and bringing in artists from all across musical genres.

Of course, this could just be a one-off, much like Morgan Wallen’s previous collaboration with Diplo.

With Koe and his music, nothing would surprise me at this point… and I mean that in the best way possible.

Kodak’s post on his Instagram page included the following caption, where he tagged Diplo and another producer in David Guetta:

“I Want A Fye Electric Guitar & Acoustic. NOT NO CHEAP SHIT EITHER David Guetta Diplo Or Anybody Ion Care !!! My Z Day Saturday 6/11.”

Maybe we’ll have a new tune this Saturday?

They seem like a sort of unlikely trio, though I really couldn’t love the prospect of it any more.

It remains to be seen what this all means, but either way, I’m super excited to see what they have up their sleeves:

Koe previously dropped the lead single, “April Showers,” from his forthcoming (unnamed) album back in April:
