The first #1 album of many for The King.
It’s hard to keep up with all the milestones in George Strait’s legendary career, and on this date in 1983, he released his third studio album, Right Or Wrong.
It was his first #1 album on the U.S. Country charts, and included three #1 singles in “You Look So Good in Love,” “Let’s Fall to Pieces Together,” and one of three covers featured on the record, “Right or Wrong” (an old song dating back to the 1920s, but made famous by both Emmett Miller and Bob Wills).
The other covers were Hank Williams’ “I’m Satisfied with You” and Merle Haggard’s “Our Paths May Never Cross”.
The album has since been certified Platinum, meaning it’s moved over one million units since it was released.
