Chris Stapleton And Patty Loveless Duet Phenomenal Performance Of “You Don’t Even Know Who I Am”

The only words I have for this video are… wow.

The Kentucky Rising benefit concert for flood relief and recovery was a star-studded event with Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers, and Dwight Yoakam. But, leave it to Christ Stapleton to bring out more phenomenal country music talent for his feature of the show.

Lo and behold, Patty Loveless. The Grand Ole Opry member, Kentucky native, and Kentucky Music Hall of Fame member was the perfect addition to the stage.

Loveless’s unmatched vocal talent and love for the Appalachian sound embodied the event’s purpose. She was there to perform her heart out for those who attended in effort to help those impacted by the floods earlier this year in Kentucky.

Stapleton and Loveless performed her iconic tune, “You Don’t Even Know Who I Am,” from her 1994 album When Fallen Angels Fly, and they left it all on the stage.

The 1995 hit tells the tale of ending a marriage because the couple realizes they are strangers in the night instead of a duo. The wife eventually comes to the decision to leave her husband, and the lyrics depict her feelings about writing a letter she leaves him on the fridge and leaving her ring on the pillow.

The duo belts out the lyrics, and the band picking up during the chorus lets Loveless’ talent shine. It’s simply amazing.

Truly is there anyone that Chris Stapleton can’t lay down a good duet with?

Also, check out them letting it rip during “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive.”

The crowd is absolutely electric.
