Las Posadas on Olvera Street: A pre-procession activity for ages 3-12 is a children’s pinata, 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16 (and nightly through Dec. 24, except cancelled if raining/floor is wet). Ventura Harbor Parade of Lights and Fireworks: “Out of this World” theme parade with decorated power and sail boats cruising the harbor twice, 6:30-8 p.m. Dec. 16-17. Winter Wonderland at Wildlife Learning Center: Enjoy seeing the rescued animals, the holiday lights decorations plus children may make an ornament at a craft table and take part in a scavenger hunt, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 17-18. Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration: Mezzo-soprano Suzanna Guzmán and pro roller skater and choreographer Candice Heiden host the 63nd annual event that includes choir groups, dance performances and music from around the world, 3-6 p.m. Dec. 24. People of Color Kwanzaa Gwardie Parade and Celebration: The 46th annual parade begins, 11 a.m. Dec. 26. The parade and festival theme is “Kila Kitu (Everything) Kwanzaa.” Parade route: Adams and Crenshaw boulevards, south on Crenshaw for two-miles, ends at Leimert Park, 43rd Place and Degnan Avenue.
