Willie Nelson’s Vintage 1974 Performance Of Some Of His Biggest Hits Is Pure Country Perfection

Music

What a throwback.

For me, it’s nearly impossible to beat anything Willie Nelson did in his prime, and this video proves exactly why.

Back in 1974, he took the stage at the Texas Opry House to perform some of his biggest hits including “Funny How Time Slips Away,” “Crazy,” and “Night Life,” and it is quite simply pure country perfection.

I mean, how many artists do you know who can stand there, strum a few chords on an old acoustic guitar like Willie’s beloved Trigger, not even really move on stage, and hold the audience in the palm of their hand?

It’s truly a sight to see, and this footage is so vintage, in fact, that it was pre-beard and long, flowing braids…

And for context, this performance was during the year he released two classic albums, Phases and Stages in March and later the compilation album Spotlight on Willie Nelson.

I mean, it just doesn’t get any better than this, in my very humble opinion:
