This was a wild day on Twitter.
Taylor Swift has been all over the headlines with her new relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and things only kicked into high gear when she appeared at Arrowhead Stadium with Kelce’s family for a game this weekend.
But with all the attention on Swift, another story about the superstar has started making its rounds again: Her feud with Kid Rock from back in 2019.
Ok, it may have been a pretty one-sided feud, because it was really just a rant from Kid Rock. But man, what a wild time on the internet that was…
It may have been a few years ago, but not much has changed with Kid Rock. Bob still finds his name trending on Twitter quite often these days – because he says whatever he wants. In his own words, he said he’s “uncancelable” because he just “doesn’t give a f-k.”
You never know who he’s going to go after next, but this time he went for one of the biggest celebrities in the world – and the internet went wild.
In his tweet, Kid Rock said:
“Taylor Swift wants to be a democrat because she wants to be in movies….period.”
“And it looks like she will suck the door knob off Hollyweird to get there. Oldest move in the book. Good luck girl.”
The tweet is still up, because as Bob says, he just doesn’t give a f*ck – so why delete it?
I guess we’ll have to see if he decides to chime in on Swift’s latest headline-making exploits.
Kid Rock Says Country Artists Wish They Could Speak Their Mind
In an interview last year, Tucker Carlson asked ol’ Bob Ritchie why other artists don’t speak out the same way he does, like in his songs “We The People,” and “Don’t Tell Me How To Live.”
He responded:
“Because they’re in bed with record companies, and corporate deals and structures at every level.”
He was then asked when he realized he wasn’t going to back down to people trying to control what he says and does:
“I think day one. I think I was born with two middle fingers in the air.”
Tucker then asks him if there are other people in the music industry, who wish they could speak out like him.
He responded:
“Every fucking day… especially the country guys. They have to be understandably careful. You know, the awards and things, radio, corporate interest, they mean a lot in country music, the awards actually help them out.
In rock and roll, it’s like, ‘hey you’re getting an award for this,’ and you’re like ‘psh, tell ’em to fucking shove it up their ass.’ I could care less about their awards. I never played any of those games anyways.”
I mean, I suppose he’s not wrong.
As much as we’ve seen independent artists like Tyler Childers, Cody Jinks and Whiskey Myers earn Gold and Platinum records lately, if you want to make it in Nashville mainstream country… you gotta play by the rules to a certain extent.
Radio is still a huge driver of mainstream country music and hell, most award show show eligibility requires that you have a radio hit to even be nominated.
Kid Rock Fires Back At Lady Gaga With Elk Hunting Photo
Lady Gaga set the internet ablaze with her video mocking rednecks as she endorsed Joe Biden for President.
If you had to make a bet on the first celebrity to respond, Kid Rock would have been a solid selection, and you would have been right.
Just about 24 hours after Gaga’s video went up, Kid Rock shared an elk hunting photo with the caption:
“In case you kids were wondering what camo is really worn for…”
While he didn’t directly call her out, it’s pretty clear what he’s referring to here.
The comments on the tweet is a big bag of chaos – people fighting over camo, others fighting over political candidates, some going after Gaga, some angry Kid Rock killed an animal to eat, etc, etc, etc.
You know, just standard Twitter stuff.
