2 dead, 3 hurt in Inglewood shooting

California

Five people were hospitalized after a shooting in Inglewood on Saturday afternoon, authorities said. Broadcast reports later said two of the victims had died.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and Inglewood Police Department responded to the area of Manchester Boulevard and 11th Avenue at around 4:40 p.m. after reports of a shooting.

Five people were transported to hospitals with gunshot wounds, the fire department said. The three survivors were in treatment Saturday evening.

Inglewood police Sgt. F. Smith said all of the victims were men.

It’s unclear if there is a suspect in custody, or what led up to the shooting.

ABC7 broadcast video showing officers examining a pickup truck and a sedan that had been damaged, apparently by the gunfire.

According to ABC7, Mayor James Butts said the victims were in a vehicle in a parking lot along Manchester when someone pulled up and shots were fired. It’s unclear if there was more than one shooter.
