Seventeen stans, or Carats, are getting a sneak peek of the music to come on the K-pop group’s mini-album, Seventeenth Heaven. On Tuesday, Hybe released a “highlight medley” of the seven songs featured on their upcoming project.
The video shows clips of the group posing for videos and dancing around different sets as the song’s play in the background. Among the tracks on the new album are “SOS,” produced by Marshmello, along with upbeat tracks “Diamond Days” and “Back 2 Back,” which are described as “odes to their dedicated fans.”
The 13-person group’s performance unit takes on “Back 2 Back,” the hip-hop unit performs “Monster,” and the vocal unit sings “Yawn.” The preview for the Woozi-written “Yawn” teases a seemingly sad song showcasing some of the group’s vocals.
Seventeen is set to release their album on Oct. 23 at 5 a.m. ET. According to a press release, the project already has an all-time high of preorder sales with more than 4.6 million.
The new mini-album follows the release of 27-track project Always Yours, which included songs such as “24H,” “Fallin Flower,” and “Dream.” Their tenth mini-album, FML, also arrived this year, featuring standouts such as “Super,” “F*ck My Life,” and “I Don’t Understand But I Luv U.” (They also joined Rolling Stone for a special edition zine in April.)
The group’s members spoke to Rolling Stone last year ahead of the release of their English-language single “Darl+ing.” “The plus sign placed in front of ‘ing’ in the title represents the ‘ongoingness’ of our relationship with Seventeen and our [fandom, called Carats],” rapper Vernon told Rolling Stone.
“In every language we sing in, we try to show Seventeen as we are,” leader S.Coups added. “And I know that people whose native language is not Korean have to work hard to understand our message. So when we record we want to try as hard as they do when they listen to our music so we can share that together.”
