Kenan and Kel Revive Fast-Food Duo to Defeat Replacement Robots in ‘Good Burger 2’ Trailer

Film

The long-awaited sequel Good Burger 2 has timed its robot takeover plot perfectly. When Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson first premiered their fast-food duo Ed and Dex on the big screen in the 1997 film, based on an All That sketch, it was at a time when robots replacing humans was a farfetched fictional plot. But now that they’re reviving their characters for the second installment, premiering on Paramount+ on Nov. 22, they’re a little closer to our increasingly Black Mirror-esque reality than they were 26 years ago.

In the official trailer, Dex (Thompson) is reeling from a failed invention and asks if Ed (Mitchell) could put in a good word for him down at Good Burger, where they both worked as teenagers all those years ago. Despite the time that has passed, they’re just as ridiculous as they were then — or, at least, that can be said about Ed, who, for some reason, has replaced his facial cleanser with maple syrup, which Dex had to find out about the hard way.

The restaurant itself is both a health and safety hazard, with milkshake machines being unclogged with toilet plungers and unsuspecting customers being pelted with food by way of tennis rackets. Still, the higher-ups at corporate map out a plan to open up Mega Good Burger locations all over the world. When they left out, however, is that they would be shutting down the regular locations and replacing all of their employees with robotic replicas. Needless to say, on their mission to save Good Burger, endless shenanigans ensue.

The film will feature appearances from Marsai Martin, Yung Gravy, Liza Koshy, Kai Cenat, Carmen Electra, Nicole Byer, Jillian Bell, Josh Server, Ron Funches, Molly Kearney, Ego Nwodim, Lil Rel Howery, Lori Beth Denberg, Rob Gronkowski, Flula Borg, Matt Friend, and Mark Cuban.
