“I hope you one day feel whole enough to not tear other women down. In the mean time, hate me harder bitch,” the singer wrote on Instagram

Kesha is turning hurtful comments into fuel for self-love. In a recent Instagram post, the musician celebrated her body in response to comments from people who were hoping to make her hate it. “To those who think you’re shaming me, you’re actually making me feel very powerful,” she wrote in a caption beneath two photos of herself in a black bikini.

“I didn’t think in 2024 people still body shamed,” Kesha stated at the beginning of the caption, adding: “I am so proud of my body. She’s been through a lot. She’s torn her ACL on stage and finished the show. She’s held my fucking broken heart together.”

The singer concluded the post with a pointed message directed at those criticizing her appearance. “I hope you one day feel whole enough to not tear other women down,” she said. “In the mean time, hate me harder bitch:) 💪🏻.”

Kesha’s tolerance for negativity has never been lower as she ramps up for the summer with “Joyride,” the high-energy pop single she released last week. “You want kids? Well, I am mother,” she declares on the song. “Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t even try to gi-give me shit/I’ve earned the right to b-be like this.”

“Joyride” marks Kesha’s first release since her decade-long defamation lawsuit with Dr. Luke was settled last summer and her first since leaving the producer’s RCA imprint Kemosabe Records in December. The legal battle came to an end years after she filed a lawsuit against the producer in 2014, alleging sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.

Just after “Joyride” arrived on Friday, Kesha celebrated the seven-year anniversary of her resilience anthem “Praying,” which pointedly commented on her dispute with Dr. Luke. “As i race like a madman into this iconic chapter of my life, i can’t help but appreciate how hard this joy has been fought for,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to all the animals who had my back then💕 I love u praying. You’re a bad strong resilient bitch. I’m proud of you.”
