You Don’t Want To Miss Hunter Flynn’s Latest Single “Can’t Never Could” Featuring Hannah Howard

Music

If you ask me, Hunter Flynn is one of the most underrated artists in country music right now. And his recent single “Can’t Never Could” just further proves my point.

While an incredibly talented songwriter in his own right, with plenty of original tracks to prove it, Flynn’s latest single was actually written by close friend and fellow Central Kentucky artist Cody Lee Meece. Nevertheless, Flynn’s soulful cut of “Can’t Never Could” showcases his amazing vocals and emotions he is able to evoke through his music.

Imploring the musical prowess of yet another Central Kentuckian in Hannah Howard who contributes guitar and harmonizing vocals, “Can’t Never Could” is a heartfelt ode to hard times and perseverance that any country music fan will be able to relate to in some capacity.

Flynn took to Instagram upon the single’s release this past Friday to express his gratitude for the song and where he is in his career right now.

“So grateful Cody Lee Meece and this song. Grateful for Hannah Howard for playing and singing it with me. Grateful for all of y’all listening and sharing it.

I’m not selling out stadiums or on a tour bus, but I am living the dream and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love y’all have a beautiful Frideeeeeee.”

Now check out “Can’t Never Could” here for yourself.

And while we’re at it, let’s give credit where credit is due, and check out the original version of this deftly written tune by Cody Lee Meece.

For anyone who may not be familiar with Hunter Flynn yet, the former insurance salesman from Somerset, KY quit his day job in 2021 to pursue a a career that catered more so to his creative sensibilities, commissioning drawings to get by as he began putting the pieces in place to get his music career in motion and testing the waters with live gigs.

He released a few singles in 2022 before the 2023 release of his impressive and well-received five-track EP Appalachian Soul, and has kept the momentum going ever since with more live shows and single releases. And luckily, it sounds like their may be more new music on the way before too long.

Sponsored by JammNation, an Australian startup that seeks to support up and coming musicians and bring fans closer to their music, Flynn won an award following his performance at Nicholas Jamerson’s Singing in the Woods festival through which he has been granted free studio time for another EP. Hannah Howard, who is yet to release any music to Spotify at this point her budding career, was also a recipient of the award at the iconic Laurel Cove Music Festival earlier this summer in Bell County, Kentucky.

The opportunity these artists have been given to create and share their music with the world, free of the financial burden of studio time, is very well deserved, and I can’t wait to see the music that comes as a result.

In the meantime, though, check out a few of my favorite Hunter Flynn songs to hold you over.
