Ryan Bingham, Jamey Johnson, Lukas Nelson & More Join Forces For The Band Tribute Tour, ‘Life Is A Carnival: The Last Waltz Tour ’24’

The music of The Band is getting the tribute treatment.

On October 17th at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, the music of Robbie Roberts and The Band will be celebrated via the Life Is A Carnival: A Musical Celebration of Robbie Robertson tribute show.

The lineup for the night is stacked, including performances by Ryan Bingham, Mike Campbell, Eric Church, Eric Clapton, Elvis Costello, Jamey Johnson, Margo Price, Noah Kahan, and many more.

While many believed this was a one-night-only event celebrating the legacy of the former Bob Dylan guitar player and founding member of The Band, the fun continues as two days later, many artists featured at the tribute show hit the road for the Life Is A Carnival: The Last Waltz Tour ’24.

The eighteen-stop tour put on by Blackbird Presents celebrates The Band’s 1976 Thanksgiving concert, which served as their farewell show, along with the life and legacy of Robbie Roberts. The tour kicks off in San Francisco, CA, on October 19th and continues through November 2024, stopping at historic venues across the United States and Canada.

This tour is more for fans of The Band, though, as the all-star lineup of musicians traveling together for this tour will make it a must-see event. Taking the stage throughout the tour are Ryan Bingham, Jamey Johnson, Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), Don Was, John Medeski, Dave Malone, Terence Higgins, Cyril Neville, Mark Mullins & The Levee Horns. Lukas Nelson will join the tour, stepping in for Jamey Johnson at three Colorado shows.

Keith Wortman, Creator and Producer of The Last Waltz franchise, spoke about his excitement about this tour. His dream of commemorating this historic farewell concert came to life in a way better than he could have imagined.

“This band, made up of these artists, playing these songs, is what Don and I dreamed of when we began planning this tour. Now the dream is a reality. Do not miss these shows!”

Presale tickets are available today (August 14, 2024) at 12 PM EST. The general on-sale will follow on August 16th at 10 AM EST.
