Not that I’m one to tell Dolly she’s wrong, but I feel like she’s pretty cool on her own…
Of course Dolly Parton was one of many artists featured on Post Malone‘s debut country album, F-1 Trillion, when it dropped yesterday. The two teamed up for “Have the Heart,” a song written by Post along with Lainey Wilson, Brad Paisley, Ashley Gorley, Charlie Handsome and Louis Bell.
And after the song was released, Dolly congratulated her collaborator on his official entry into the country music family, while also sharing a video of the two meeting for the first time.
Now, first of all: Are these two of the nicest people in the world? Obviously Dolly’s an angel, but the way Post says “Yes ma’am” after everything Dolly says and seems so humble and honored to meet her is pretty awesome to see. And it shows you how much respect he has for country music and its legends.
But it also seems like that respect goes both ways with Dolly telling Post:
“I can say I’m cool because of you.”
Of course I’d say Dolly was pretty cool already. And I don’t think there’s anybody who would disagree with that, including Post himself. But it’s nice to see the country legends welcoming Post Malone into country music after the respect and appreciation that he’s shown to the genre over the years.
