“EVERYONE WATCHES WOMENS SPORTS,” wrote Biles on X. “So happy to be able to go support!”
The Indiana Fever players got a special visit from Olympic gold medalists Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas after their win against the Connecticut Sun on Monday night. The WNBA team’s players were “ecstatic” as they posed for photos with the athletes — and it’s safe to say the feelings were mutual.
“They were so excited! Usually, the boys will just pass and be like, ‘Yup,’” Biles giggled in the video. “But they were so excited. That was so cool.”
The gymnast and runner excitedly hugged rookie star Caitlin Clark, Tami Fagbenle, Aliyah Boston, and the other members of the squad as they snapped pictures together. The players could be seen rushing between the Olympians to pose for the photos.
“Text me, text me!” joked one player about being sent the photos.
Biles shared the Indiana Fever video on X, writing: “EVERYONE WATCHES WOMENS SPORTS 🫶🏾 so happy to be able to go support! my first of many WNBA games 🤞🏾.”
“First WNBA game of many! Had so much fun supporting these stars,” added Thomas in her post.
Clark, who scored 19 points and set the WNBA record for 3-pointers with 88 in a season, also shared the video to her Instagram, writing, “Lemme fan girl real quick.”
Earlier in the night, fans attending the Indiana vs. Connecticut match-up were able to see the Olympic medalists on the big screen.
Biles and Thomas are both coming off massive summers at the Paris Olympics: Biles earned three gold medals and a silver medal, while Thomas took home three golds in the 200-meter race, 4×100-meter relay, and the 4×400-meter relay.
