If you’re not watching the Dallas Cowboys game against the Detroit Lions right now…well, you’re not missing much. As I write this the Lions are up 47-9 over the Cowboys in Dallas early in the 4th quarter, and nothing seems to be going right for Mike McCarthy’s team on offense or defense.
The Cowboys are 3-2 on the season (for another 15 minutes), but you’d never know it by the way they’re playing right now. So fans really weren’t in the mood to hear about the halftime show for their Thanksgiving game.
At halftime, it was announced that country superstar Lainey Wilson would be headlining the halftime show for the Thanksgiving Day game at AT&T Stadium between the Cowboys and the New York Giants.

(The Cowboys just took $60-million quarterback Dak Prescott out of the game with 13 minutes left in the 4th quarter, if that tells you how bad things are going).
But anyway, after Lainey was announced as the performer for the Thanksgiving game, Cowboys fans took to the comments…to blast the timing of the announcement and the team’s terrible performance today.

Brutal.
Of course Lainey already had a tough job ahead of her, after Dolly Parton set the world on fire with her performance at halftime of last year’s Thanksgiving game when she came out dressed as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.
But now she’s going to be performing for a fanbase that’s either in the middle of a full-blown meltdown, or so checked out by that point in the season that nobody even cares about the game.
If anybody’s up to the challenge though, it’s Lainey.
