Heading across the pond.
Of course, most of the news surrounding Zach Bryan this week has been about his breakup with Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry.
But amid all of the drama and news about what really wend down between them, it was announced that Bryan would headline London’s BST Hyde Park, which is an iconic venue and one of the largest of the parks and green spaces that form a chain from Kensington Palace through Kensington Gardens.
Artists like Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam and more have all headlined shows there, and it’s an iconic outdoor venue in London. In fact, this summer, Morgan Wallen actually broke the record for the largest country concert ever held in the U.K with over 50,000 fans in attendance.
Anytime a huge country star heads over to Europe for a show or even tour, it’s a big deal, because those fans LOVE country music and obviously don’t get to see them as much as we do here in America.
When you couple that with the fact that it’s (currently) a one-stop show at one of the most iconic venues in the country, it’s a pretty big deal, and many fans were thrilled at the possibility of seeing Zach for the first time live in concert.
Well, tickets went on-sale this morning, and from what I could tell, you could either buy them through Ticketmaster or AXS, which is usually a little more secure than Ticketmaster in terms of less scalpers and insane prices.
But since Zach is incredibly popular and his tours always sell out fast, there were similar problems across the pond, and many fans were upset that tickets seemingly sold out in minutes. Some even questioned if there were actual tickets for sale because of how quick it went:
“How on earth did a venue of 65k sell out that quick? Devastated.”
“Will there be another set of tickets sold? This is ridiculous.”
“Absolutely gutted. Tried for tickets everyday this week 😭”
“Less than 2,000 people ahead of me in the queue and general admission all sold out. This happened in presale too?”
“Not even one ticket available after 10 mins.”
“Got in at 10, started at 22000 ahead of me.”
“Didn’t get tickets, sold out so quick.”
“How on earth do I get in the waiting at 9:45, get in at 10, and cant get tickets?!”
“Were there actually any tickets for sale?”
“This is BS – was in queue from 9:30am and couldn’t get any tickets.”
“Is there going to be another set?”
“Ticketmaster sucks.”
“On Ticketmaster since 8am F*** OFF.”
“Tickets were a joke!”
“Is there another set or was that it?”
We’ll see if they open up more tickets, or even add a second night, because it’s pretty insane to think tens of thousands of tickets went that quickly. Zach has yet to announce openers and the full lineup, so those details are still forthcoming.
To quote the great Lainey Wilson, country is cool again (all over the world, might I add), and this is the part of it that kind of sucks for fans. It’s hard to score the hottest ticket in town, especially when the artist only comes around every so often.
