Happy with the results, eh?
I don’t think it’s really any secret which way Cody Johnson leans politically. The cowboy from Texas been outspoken in the past about his support for law enforcement and our military, his patriotism for his country, and his disgust with the mainstream media for trying to divide our country.
Each night when he takes the stage, Cody delivers passionate speeches about just how much it means to be an American:
@savannanicolecraig Such a beautiful concert!!! #codyjohnson #cojo #cojonation #fypシ #concerts #thewoodlands #foru #countrymusic @Cody Johnson
So it’s probably not a surprise that CoJo is a Republican – like many others in country music. But during the 2024 election, Cody opted not to speak much on politics, instead focusing his message on coming together as Americans:
The point of unity is being together no matter what you believe. I look out at this crowd tonight, and I see all types of people…I look at all these different people, it’s okay to disagree…
Because before most of us were born, an American soldier died for our right to disagree in this country. That’s what makes unity so beautiful, is sometimes with unity, we disagree, but guess what? There’s three things we can agree on… they are this, they are red, white and blue!”
But now that the election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris is over, Cody is leaving no doubt about who he voted for.
During a recent show in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Arena, CoJo was once again giving the speech that he usually does about the media trying to divide us – but he also threw in his opinion on this most recent election:
“This last election – not the one that just happened, that one turned out pretty good.
But the election before, they tried to divide us on everything they could divide us on. They tried to divide us on masks, vaccines, race, gender, politics, every bit of it. And I for one am done with division…”
@graciekayee_ CoJo you are unreal. God bless you. He spent the whole day roping at South Point & then put on one hell of a concert. He said he is still learning to be human, but I think we could all learn a thing or two from him. Thank you for making country music great again & being such a great person. ❤️ #codyjohnson #mgmgrand #lasvegas #merica🇺🇸 #trump2024🇺🇸 @Cody Johnson
God bless CoJo, never afraid to speak his mind and stand up for his country. Need more people like that in country music.
Of course there are a few country artists who were outspoken during the 2024 presidential election, most notably Jason Aldean, who has become friends with President Trump and even performed at the Republican National Convention as Trump was officially crowned the party’s nominee.
Obviously Aldean has received plenty of criticism for his political views, and in 2023 he received a ton of backlash from the left and those in the media (but I repeat myself) over his song “Try That In A Small Town,” which called out big city lawlessness.
But Cody spoke up in support of Aldean during the controversy:
“We live in a time where everyone gets pissed at Jason Aldean for putting out a song. If you’re videoing this, and Jason Aldean, if you’re watching this, you keep it up, brother. You do you.
If being patriotic makes you an outlaw, then by God, I’ll be an outlaw.”

So it really shouldn’t be a surprise that Cody was pleased with the results of the 2024 election. As he said, that one turned out pretty good indeed.
