A while back (you know, back when concerts were a thing), they covered “All I Can Do Is Write About It,” by the legendary southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd… and it’s downright magnificent. Clocking in at nearly 9 minutes long, it’s nearly double the length of the original song.
Written by lead singer Ronnie Van Zant and founding member Allen Collins, “All I Can Do Is Write About It” was originally released on Skynyrd’s Gimme Back My Bullets album in 1976. The song finds our singer lamenting the changing way of life in the laid-back South, the place he calls home. The only thing he can do about it? Write a song.
