Coronavirus: Hospitalizations fall below 5,000, report 5,028 new cases and 239 new deaths as of Feb. 4

Hospitalizations in Los Angeles County continue to decline. According to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, there were 4,990 people hospitalized with coronavirus infections, 175 fewer than the previous day as of Thursday, Feb. 4.

The county reported 5,028 new cases, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases to 1,134,338,as of Thursday. The county reported 239 new fatalities linked to coronavirus, for a total 17,539 deaths since tracking began.

Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
