Birds in the Moon: The Broad Stage presents a chamber opera by Mark Grey and Júlia Canosa i Serra about a “bird-mother” who has landed in a desert to seek water and shelter and subsequently encounters a circus ringmaster, 7 p.m. Sept. 2-4. The play is based on a theory by 17th century scientist Charles Morton who proposed that birds migrate to the moon and come back to earth. Tickets $25-$75.
