Turnpike Troubadours Red Rocks Tickets Are Listing For More Than $1,000 On Secondary Markets

Did anyone actually get Turnpike tickets?

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind for Turnpike Troubadours in the past week. On the one hand, we’re absolutely ecstatic that the fellas are BACK. Happy, healthy… the best band in country music is ready to get back to doing what they do best.

AND… they’re going to be playing a show at one of the coolest venues in the entire country next spring… Red Rocks Amphitheatre, right outside of Denver.

Only problem…. nobody can get tickets.

In fact, I don’t personally know anybody that was able to get them, and a shit load sure as hell tried. Hell, our own employees (Whiskey Riff is based out of Denver by the way) were trying and… no luck.

The show is slated for May 14th, 2022, and tickets were set in the $50-80 price range.

You can purchase them on resale sites, but HOLY FUCK, are they expensive. We’re talking upwards of a thousand bucks on popular ticket sites like Ticketmaster, Stub Hub, and Vivid Seats. Even AXS, the original ticket platform, is reselling them for astronomical fees.

I mean, look at this shit:

Now, I’m not going to pretend like I’m an expert on ticket sales, reselling, bots, scalpers, and how all that fuckery works, but it seems like there’s gotta be something we can do to make sure tickets get to the fans at a fair price, right?

And don’t get me wrong, I’m all for free market capitalism, supply and demand, etc… and the demand right probably warrants a pretty penny, but what really sucks is that the band doesn’t get a dime of that upcharge.

If you don’t believe me, Turnpike bass player RC Edwards will tell you himself:

The good news is there are going to more Turnpike shows next year, and don’t forget… this is just their first announced show, their official comeback show will most likely be even sooner.

Would it be great to see Turnpike at Red Rocks? Fuck yeah it would (and I’m still hoping to be there), but let’s not lose sight of the fact that Turnpike is BACK, Evan is healthy, and from what I’ve been hearing around the metaphorical water cooler, new music is on the way.

Good things are happening people… for us, for them, for country music in general.
