Coronavirus: L.A. County reported 864 new cases and 34 new deaths, March 16

Los Angeles County public health officials reported 864 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 2,815,379 as of Wednesday, March 16.

Officials reported 34 more deaths linked to the coronavirus, for a total of 31,372 deaths since tracking began.

There were four fewer hospitalizations reported since Tuesday, bringing the total count of people hospitalized with coronavirus to 499.

According to the California Department of Public Health’s vaccines dashboard, 75% of Los Angeles County is fully vaccinated.
