LAPD arrests suspect accused of evading after fatal West Hills parking lot shooting

A Simi Valley woman has been arrested in relation to the weekend shooting at the Fallbrook Center shopping center in West Hills that left three people injured and one person dead, police said Monday.

The shooting broke out on Saturday, April 1, allegedly as the result of a dispute over drugs, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.  One man died at the scene in a parking lot and three others were transported to a hospital with gunshot wounds. Three people suspected of involvement with the shooting are in custody, but the LAPD has not released the third suspect’s identity.

33-year-old Amy Waters was arrested on suspicion of felony evasion after the shooting. According to the LAPD, Waters drove to the location of another suspect, Woodland Hills resident Mark Connole, 34, after the shooting, picked him up, and fled the scene. Waters led police on a brief pursuit and was later taken into custody along with her passenger.

Waters was booked at the Van Nuys Jail on $75,000 bail. Authorities do not believe Waters was involved in the shooting, or that she had knowledge of it. Connole was booked at the LAPD Topanga station on suspicion of murder and was being held on $2 million bail.
