VAN NUYS — A person was killed Thursday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on the 405 Freeway in the Van Nuys area.

Paramedics were sent to the northbound 405 Freeway near Sherman Way about 6:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Information was not immediately available on the identity of the fatally injured person, who died at the scene. Three other people were treated for unspecified injuries.

Three lanes were blocked in the area while an investigation was conducted.
