“I’m nervous, but I’m also excited to show people the potential, all the work that we put in, and how this year has really changed me as an artist,” Waffles said days ahead of the show. “If fear comes in, I always just pray. I’m a firm believer in just praying it away. I’m just like, this is never a mistake. Where I am is not a mistake, so there’s no need for me to be scared.” In her green room, she prayed with her team and dancers before hitting the stage.
