If you’re not listening to Hunter Flynn yet, you’re missing out.
The Pulaski County, Kentucky native is one of the latest in a long, long line of spectacular artists from the Bluegrass State to emerge on the scene with soulful vocals and knack for honest storytelling and authentic lyricism. At 26 years old, you could call Flynn a late bloomer of sorts, considering he hadn’t released any music until summer of 2022.
The former insurance salesman quit his day job at the end of 2021 to embark on a career that catered to his creative sensibilities, commissioning drawings to get by as he began putting the pieces in place to get his music career in motion and testing the waters with live gigs.
Flynn dropped his debut single at the perfect time, though, coming out hot with “You Deserve It All – (Live Session At The Makers Mill)” in June of last year, which remains his most streamed song to date. He went on to release acoustic versions of “That Twirl” and “East Kentucky Dream” that summer before eventually releasing his extremely impressive five song debut EP Appalachian Soul.
Keeping the momentum going, Flynn recently added to his growing catalog with the release of his latest single “Eileen” at the end of August.
While he already boasts a strong regional following, Flynn’s fanbase is growing daily, and as more people discover his music, he is sure to break out any time now, just like countless Kentucky artists have done before him. Hunter Flynn is not an artist you are going to want to miss, so you may as well get on the bandwagon here early.
