Garth Brooks Is Starring In ‘Spinal Tap’ Sequel & He Couldn’t Be More Excited About It: “This Is History, Man”

Music

You’ll have to take our word for it, because Garth Brooks saying that something is “neat” means he has reached the peak of excitement about it.

Fans of the original 1984 comedy/musical/mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap will be happy to know that a sequel is on its way in 2024. Go ahead and try to find an old movie that isn’t being rebooted, I’ll wait…

For those unfamiliar with the cult classic movie, it basically set out to make fun of rock and roll music and everything surrounding it. That was in the 1980’s, so it should be interesting to see how they tackle the same (or similar) premise in the 2020’s.

Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, and Michael McKean, who were the original stars and writers of the movie, are all returning to reprise their roles and bring their made-up metal band Spinal Tap back to the big screen. And they’ll be joined along the way by some impressive cameos…

Not a lot is known about the movie, though it has been confirmed that the likes of Elton John, Paul McCartney, and the one-and-only Garth Brooks will somehow be included in the film.

Brooks was asked by a fan about his cameo in the upcoming film during a recent livestream interview with Billboard, and though the country star didn’t want to say much, he shared what he could:

“Oh, with McCartney, and who is it, Elton maybe? No. Can’t say anything about it. Cause it’s not my deal. If it’s my deal, I’d spill my guts, but it’s not, so they swear you to secrecy and to silence.”

Spilling guts? Interesting choice of words there Garth (where are the bodies?).

Brooks went on to say he’s appreciative of being a part of the sequel because he was such a huge fan of the first film, and he’s excited for fans to be able to see it:

“I will tell you this though. If you think you have laughed before, Jiminy Christmas… First of all, I was in love with Spinal Tap, in love with the original movie.

The fact that it’s coming back, it’s gonna be neat to be a part of this. Because this is history, man.”

Garth Brooks just continues to make history. Starring in the This Is Spinal Tap sequel, and exclusively releasing your album at Bass Pro Shop? No one else is doing it like him.
