Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Publicly Address Divorce Rumors: “It’s Just Lies”

Music

Still happily married – and plan to stay that way.

Of course when you’re in the public eye, every move you make – or don’t make – is under a microscope.

And lately Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have found their relationship status questioned online as fans have been reading into what the couple have – and haven’t – been posting on their social media, particularly around the holidays when the couple appeared to be apart based on the photos that they both shared.

But according to Blake and Gwen themselves, the rumors are just that: Rumors.

The couple sat down with Nylon Magazine recently, where they discussed having their relationship play out in the public eye, and Gwen shot down the speculation of any trouble in paradise:

“When you’re in love and have truly aligned values, nobody can get to us. You can say whatever you want to say about our relationship — I mean, a week ago we were getting divorced again or something.

It’s just lies. The truth is the truth, and we know what that is.”

The couple did admit, though, that they have their own insecurities in their marriage:

“I had been going through those times where you’re questioning: ‘Oh my gosh, am I just getting older? Am I cute?’

In my own relationship, even though I know the truth of what’s happening today, you still create drama in your own mind about your insecurities and what might happen. I was in that phase of the relationship with Blake and getting paranoid.”

And Blake says those thoughts aren’t unique to Gwen:

“It’s an insecurity we both have. These are conversations that she and I have with each other: ‘Are you still going to love me when I’m old or if I forget who I am?’”

But regardless, the two are still happy with their life together – and apparently Gwen has adjusted well to her knew life in Oklahoma, where Blake says she even has her own tractor now.

They also recently released a new song together, “Purple Irises,” and say that they would even like to have a whole album of duets someday.

Sounds like the marriage is doing just fine, despite what the internet says.
