After El Comienzo, the boys of Grupo Frontera are ready for what’s next.

On Tuesday, in a cover story with Fader, the Mexican American norteño band announced that they will be releasing their album Jugando Que No Pasa Nada this spring — and it features Nicki Nicole, Christian Nodál, Maluma, and Morat.

“We have R&B, bachata, all these different things,” frontman Payo Solís told the outlet. “[So people can] find their beat, in our album, with their cultural language.”

This album feels really fresh,” accordionist Juan Javier Cantú added. “It’s super diverse, which is what all of us like.”

Among the tracks on the album is a song called “Desquite” with Nicole, the already-released “Ya Pedo Quién Sabe” with Nodál, and a song with Morat, the group they covered for their breakthrough hit “No Se Va.”

The boys of Frontera also recently told Rolling Stone that they were exploring new “musical ideas” with their go-to songwriter and producer, Edgar Barrera, for the new album. They even tried out muted drums, synths, and steel guitars reminiscent of George Straight.

“He’d be like, ‘You’re down to do that?’ And we really were. We really let him experiment,” drummer Carlos Guerrero told Rolling Stone. At times, Solís added, “We were skeptical and thought, ‘How’s this going to sound?’ But honestly, we jam out to every song on the new album.”

“We were trying everything this time around,” percussionist Julian Peña continued.

The group also premiered the video for the single “Quédate Bebé,” written with Benny Blanco, Keityn, and Barrera, with Rolling Stone in February. “This song, like most of our songs, has so much emotion behind it,” the group said at the time. “It makes you want to dance, to laugh, to cry, and everything in between and we love how we are able to continue to create music that makes you feel so deeply.”
