“Do As I Say, Not As I Do” – Morgan Wallen Jokes With Fan As He Signs “Leave Them Broadway Chairs Alone” Shirt

Music

Gotta keep a sense of humor about those felonies I guess…

Morgan Wallen hit the road this weekend of a show in Oxford, Mississippi, his first time taking the stage since his arrest earlier this month for allegedly throwing a chair off the rooftop of Eric Church’s downtown Nashville bar, Chief’s.

Of course as soon as the arrest hit the news, the internet had plenty of jokes, including a lot of “leave them Broadway chairs alone” tweets. And Church’s bar even got in on the action:

Morgan briefly addressed the arrest for the first time last week, issuing a brief statement on Twitter saying that he takes full responsibility for his actions:

And while Morgan didn’t directly address the arrest during the show at Ole Miss, he did joke that he’s still “a little rowdy.”

Of course Morgan being “a little rowdy” is part of the reason his fans love him – so you knew there were going to be plenty of homemade shirts alluding to his arrest in the crowd.

And as he was signing autographs after the show, one fan passed him their “Leave Them Broadway Chairs Alone” shirt for Morgan’s signature.

He was a good sport about it, laughing as he signed the shirt making fun of his recent legal troubles, and joking with the fan as he passed the shirt back:

“Do as I say, not as I do.”

I think that’s pretty good advice…
