Here we go again.
Seems like everybody’s trying to get into country music these days. Beyoncé just recently dropped her country-inspired album, Cowboy Carter, a few weeks ago, and Post Malone has a single with Morgan Wallen called “I Had Some Help” coming this Friday as he continues to dip his toe into country music.
Well next up we have…Yung Gravy.
I assume if you’re here you’re probably not super familiar with Mr. Gravy, the Minnesota-born rapper whose real name is Matthew Raymond Hauri.
Well…neither am I.
I know who he is, but I don’t really know much about his music other than a song that went viral on TikTok awhile back. (“Damn Gravy you so vicious, you so clean, so delicious.” Don’t even know the real name of it).
Gravy had people talking awhile back when he posted a photo from the studio with Shania Twain, so clearly those two have something in the works. But in the meantime, the rapper is set to become the latest artist from another genre to drop his first “country” single.
Now, I put “country” in quotes because the song is called “Clementine,” and Gravy has already teased a little bit of it, and…well, just give it a listen for yourself.

The song’s clearly an interpolation of the Zac Brown Band hit “Chicken Fried,” and Gravy even commented on the post that he’s been hanging with Zac and Shania. And I mean, I guess it’s not really any less country than Sam Hunt or Walker Hayes, but I don’t really consider them super country either…
“Clementine” drops this Friday, the first single from his upcoming album Serving Country. And in the meantime, he’s been dropping previews of some of the other tracks that we can expect as he makes his “country” debut.
