What To Know
- Eva Green was hospitalized after sustaining an injury while filming Season 3 of Netflix’s Wednesday.
- Green joins the cast as Aunt Ophelia Frump.
- Wednesday Season 3, featuring several new cast members alongside returning stars, is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2027.
Eva Green was recently rushed to a hospital after an accident on the set of Wednesday, according to a report.
While filming for the Netflix series starring Jenna Ortega, Green, 45, was reportedly injured, a source told The U.S. Sun. “This was really nasty,” the unnamed insider shared. “Eva sustained an injury and was clearly in pain and producers were taking no chances.”
The source added, “Medics were called and Eva went to hospital. She underwent treatment and is now recovering well.”
Green joined the cast of Wednesday Season 3 as Aunt Ophelia Frump, Morticia’s sister who is also a Raven with psychic abilities like Wednesday. It marks yet another collaboration with Tim Burton, following her roles in Dark Shadows, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and Dumbo.
“I’m thrilled to join the woefully twisted world of Wednesday as Aunt Ophelia,” Green told Tadum in November. “This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world, I can’t wait to bring my own touch of cuckoo-ness to the Addams family.”

Creators and showrunners/writers Al Gough and Miles Millar added, “Eva Green has always brought an exhilarating, singular presence to the screen — elegant, haunting, and beautifully unpredictable. Those qualities make her the perfect choice for Aunt Ophelia. We’re excited to see how she transforms the role and expands Wednesday’s world.”
The French actress is best known for playing Bond girl Vesper Lynd, Daniel Craig‘s love interest in Casino Royale, as well as Vanessa Ives in the TV series Penny Dreadful.
In addition to Green, other Wednesday Season 3 newcomers include Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, James Lance, Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer. They join Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Billie Piper, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Victor Dorobantu, Evie Templeton, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Dame Joanna Lumley, and Fred Armisen.
Wednesday Seasons 1 and 2, streaming on Netflix; Season 3 expected in 2027
