Tow truck driver injured in assault that led to 210 Freeway closure – NBC Los Angeles

An assault on a tow truck driver led to a chase and shooting early Friday that closed part of the 210 Freeway in Glendora.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Baldwin Park CHP deputies pursued a driver who failed to yield shortly before 3 a.m. Deputies chased the driver of a white utility vehicle that was sought for a possible assault on a tow truck driver on the eastbound 210 Freeway near Grand Avenue, the CHP said. 

According to the CHP, the tow truck driver was injured, but his condition was not known. Details about what led to the assault were not immediately available.

The pursuit ended at Arrow Highway and Citrus Avenue and a law enforcement shooting occurred. 

The driver was injured as a result of the shooting and transported to a hospital. His condition was not known. 

Eastbound 210 Freeway lanes will remain closed for an unknown duration, CHP said.
