Law enforcement in Riverside County is seeking the public’s help in finding a 16-year-old Hemet girl who went missing last month.

Laiylah Mix was last seen on July 26, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. According to the teen’s father, Adam Bubert, she disappeared after visiting the Deputy Brett M. Harris Park in Hemet.

“She was staying with her mother and all that was found, from what I know, was her phone,” Bubert said. “I know she doesn’t drive and she could either only be on foot or could have been picked up by somebody.”

Bubert, who said the past three nights have been sleepless amid his desperate search for his daughter, added that Mix did not have any romantic partners that he knows of. He’s been in communication with several law enforcement agencies and some communication with the girl’s mother amid their search.

“She’s known to have some mental health issues and I’m just worried that her safety is of giant concern,” Bubert said.

Mix is described as standing at 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds. She has brown eyes and dyed burgundy hair. She was last seen wearing a green T-shirt and black cargo jeans.

Law enforcement said the girl may be a runaway. The girl’s father said the last time the two spoke, she expressed interest in running away.

“The last time my daughter reached out to me, she was talking about running away again, and I said it wasn’t a good idea,” Bubert said. “So, I had to reach out to her mom out of respect to make sure that my daughter didn’t make any bad moves. And that was the last time I talked to her.”

Anyone who has seen Mix or who knows of her whereabouts is urged to contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at 951-776-1099.

“I’m just trying to fight for you, Laiylah,” her father said. “I want you to come home and I want you to know that I love you.”
