With Will Smith already in place to star and David Gordon Green ready to call the shots, prison-set action thriller ‘Supermax’ is bolstering its cast.
Deadline reports that the first two new additions are Jaafar Jackson, who has enjoyed tremendous success with ‘Michael’ (which recently grossed a billion dollars at the box office and is now the highest-grossing musical biopic on record) and ‘Rebel Ridge’ actor AnnaSophia Robb.
Amazon MGM Studios swooped in to buy the rights to this one shortly before it was due to be put on the Cannes market.

What’s the story of ‘Supermax’?

David Weil and David J. Rosen, who both worked on Prime Video TV series ‘Hunters’, teamed back up to write the script, which follows two FBI agents who must investigate a murder that has taken place in the world’s most secure prison.
Robb will be Smith’s FBI partner, while Jackson’s role has yet to be revealed.
When will ‘Supermax’ be on screens?
Amazon has yet to offer specific details on a release, but it’ll certainly end up on the company’s Prime Video service even if it lands in theaters first.
