“It’s Going To Be A Very Unusual Wedding On The Farm” — Reba Says Wedding Planning Is Not Going “Very Well”

Sounds like they need to retire if they’re ever going to get married…

Reba and her fiancé Rex Linn met many years ago in 1991 on the set of Kenny Rogers’ The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw, and became friends then, though they did not become romantically involved until 2020, though they did keep in contact some over the years very casually.

Eventually, they got to know each other during quarantine, and they did a lot of FaceTime dates to get to know each other while the world was shut down, and found that they really enjoyed each other’s company. As the two grew more fondly of each other, they started a daily call called “Coffee Camp,” where they set aside a dedicated time beginning in March of 2020, where they caught up or just laughed about their days:

“It was a very special relationship, us getting to know each other without any physical aspect to it at all. We’d talk in the morning, we started ‘Coffee Camp’ while I was staying in Oklahoma … We haven’t missed a ‘Coffee Camp’ since March 16.”

The two are clearly a match made in heaven, with McEntire sharing earlier this year with Fox News Digital that the two are a “perfect union.”

“Well, Rex and I get along in every aspect. He’s a better cook than I am, so I like that, for sure. We love Longhorns, we love the cowboy way of life, cowgirl way of life, and we both got into the entertainment industry.

He’s an actor. I’m a singer. I love to act. Now we act together. So it’s just the perfect union, absolutely. And we get along great. We do argue now. We argue a lot, but we have fun doing that too.”

But the wedding itself is not exactly in the works yet, as Reba revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that the planning is not going “very well,” and because of their crazy work schedules, it’s been hard to find a time to set a date, because she plans to have a “three or four” day celebration, not just a one-weekend thing:

“Not very well. Every time we plan on something, he gets a job, or we get back into the third season, and hoping for more, and you can’t plan something that we think is going to be a week or two. You know, it’s not going to be a wedding day, it’s going to have to be three or four days.”

Sounds like Reba’s gonna go all out…

She added that they have tons of animals they want to include too, so they’re going to have to come up with some unusual ideas to make it perfect for them, and she knows for sure they will do it on their farm in Tennessee:

“Well see, not only do we have grand dogs, but we have long horn steers, we have donkeys, we have horses, and dogs, so it’s going to be a very unusual wedding on the farm.”

Of course, they will have a star-studded guest list with plenty of musicians, and Reba joked that she might just turn it into a music festival to make some of the money they’re going to spend back:

“That’s a problem. Rex has hist list, I have my list. And if we leave anybody out, we’re gonna hurt somebody’s feelings. So not sure how the music is gonna roll. It will be a festival, it would pay for the whole thing.”

I love that even as an older couple they’re still going to do a big wedding. It’s pretty uncommon to be honest, but their love is just as beautiful and timeless as a couple in any other age range, and I have no doubt that when it finally happens, it will be really something special.

Rex and Reba will return for Season 3 of Reba’s sitcom Happy’s Place, which will premiere this October:
