A man was arrested earlier this week in connection with the deaths of three men in Hollywood last month.
The three victims were found dead in a shooting the night of July 24 at a Hollywood apartment, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
They were identified as Jeremiah Badeker, Jack Cartegena, and Michael Bogacz, all residents of Los Angeles.
Officers responded to the 1900 block of Wilcox Avenue after a family member called for a welfare check at an apartment unit around 11:30 p.m. When they arrived, officers found three men dead.
According to the LAPD, an altercation had taken place inside the apartment.
The suspect, identified as 57-year-old Patrick Kevin Spurlock, ordered the victims at gunpoint to get on the floor.
While the men lay on the ground, Spurlock shot them numerous times. The victims were discovered several days later and were pronounced deceased, LAPD said.
Spurlock was arrested on Aug. 14 at the 6600 block of Franklin Avenue and booked him on three counts of murder without bail.
The LAPD said that one of the victims’ sisters was in Las Vegas and received a text from an unknown number that her brother was dead.
The victim’s sister called into a police station, and a welfare check was conducted.
A detective at the scene told NBCLA all three men were shot. No weapons were found at the scene.
The three men were not believed to be tenants of the apartment. Police do not believe the incident was gang-related.
The case will be presented to the LA District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
