It only took all season, but The 1% Club set a new record. The game show set a new record for the number of people out in one round.
On the August 17 Season 3 finale, the contestants were those who had played before but never won or made it to the one percent question. This was called the Second Chance Show. Despite playing the game before, a lot of the contestants still did not make it far.
The 60 percent question, which meant only six out of 10 people they polled got it right, was “Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. The three clocks above are all stopped and, combined, they’ve been right five times today. Which of the options below could be the current time?”
The clocks read 1:50, 12:30, and 1:25. However, the options were A. 1:12pm, B. 1:35pm, and C. 1:58pm.
The contestants had 30 seconds to submit their answer. If they got it right, they stayed in the game. If they got it wrong, a blue light would shine on them, and they would be out of the game.

“Oh no! No! What is happening?” host Joel McHale said as the blue lights kept going. “Stop! That’s too much.”
The screen stopped to show “50 Out.” “50 people! I can’t even curse. This is so crazy,” he said. “I gave you a second chance, and you blew it!”
“You blew it! We just broke a record for people going out. We lost 50 of you on that question.” Out of 100 players, there were only 26 left.
The correct answer was 1:35 pm. At 1:35, clocks two and three have been correct twice, and clock one has been correct once, which makes it five times in total.
When McHale singled out a person who got it wrong, he asked him if it made any sense to him. “No,” the contestant said, waving his hands in front of his face. “Not one percent of it.”
Other contestants yelled in agreement, all shouting out “No!”
“The person next to you got it right,” McHale said.
“I guess,” the woman replied. A few others said they guessed as well.
The question was posted to Reddit, and many fans commented on how it was written confusingly. “I find this one hard. For me, its the question seemingly written to be complicated,” one said.
“That was wild!” said another.
“I think the ‘percent of Americans that got it right’ guessed and picked the middle answer, just like the contestants did,” a third added.
“This is not making any sense to me,” another fan said.
“This is still not clicking for me istg,” one last fan commented.
