From Washington, D.C. to her Tennessee mountain home, country legend Dolly Parton touched the lives of millions with her art and her good deeds.
While the world mourns the singer-songwriter, tributes are being placed to honor the late legend. One such tribute will include an illumination at Pacific Park’s Ferris wheel in Santa Monica.
The 90-foot staple will display pink hearts, stars and spirals to honor Parton, who was known for her flashy and fun sense of style.
“The Santa Monica Pier tribute joins a national outpouring of remembrance that includes New York City’s Empire State Building sparkling in pink, while fans are gathering at Parton’s statue in her hometown of Sevierville, Tennessee, the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville and her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to remember an entertainer and humanitarian whose music, generosity and joyful spirit touched generations around the world,” Pacific Park said in a statement.
Fans who want to catch the tribute can head to the Santa Monica Pier to watch it from sunset to 12 a.m. A livestream is also available to watch online.
