
A teenager was critically injured Thursday when the electric motorcycle he was riding collided with a vehicle in Fountain Valley, police said.
Fountain Valley police officers responded at about 12:44 p.m. to a serious traffic collision at Talbert Avenue and Second Street.
A preliminary investigation found that a vehicle was traveling west on Talbert Avenue and began making a left turn south onto Second Street when it collided with an electric motorcycle traveling east in the bike lane from the direction of Magnolia Street, according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.
The e-motorcycle rider, a 14-year-old Fountain Valley resident, was taken to a local trauma center where he was listed in critical but stable condition, police said.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been factors in the collision, according to police.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
