In Diarra From Detroit Season 2, Diarra is determined to leave the chaos behind and finally enjoy a little peace. Instead, a routine furniture recovery mission lands her in the middle of a grisly new crime, setting off another wildly unpredictable adventure through Detroit’s criminal underworld. As the mystery deepens, she’ll go undercover with a secret society, chase buried treasure, and navigate a love life that’s every bit as complicated as the case itself.
The series is created by Diarra Kilpatrick, who stars as Diarra Brickland. Season 2 stars DomiNque Perry, Bryan Terrell Clark, and Jon Chaffin alongside Shannon Wallace, Phylicia Rashad, and Harry Lennix and also features an all-star lineup of guest stars, including Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Morris Chestnut, Glynn Turman, Bokeem Woodbine, Amber Riley, Lil Rel Howery, Lovie Simone, Shoniqua Shandai, Nicco Annan, Skilla Baby, Icewear Vezzo, Chris “CP” Powell, and Jude Demorest.
What could Diarra From Detroit Season 3 be about?
Kilpatrick told TV Insider in July, ahead of the Season 2 premiere, that she wants to lean more into “horror, maybe something that’s a little gorier,” in a potential Diarra From Detroit Season 3. Clark had a similar idea, noting that the first season was set in the winter and the second in the summer, so he wants Season 3 to be set in the fall. The show’s excellent costume department would thrive in that season.

“I think we’re already a little bit like the Scooby Doo crew. That’s what they call us: the Ghetto Goonies,” he said. “Because Detroit is such a character in this show, and because Diarra tends to find real stories — I don’t know if people know this, but Season 1 was loosely based on a real story about an adult who showed up to a precinct and said, ‘Remember that kid that was taken back in the day? I’m that kid.’ That’s Season 1. Season 2…it’s rooted and based on some real things. For Season 3, I would go straight Scooby Doo. I would find the most crazy horror story in Detroit lore, and I would have them really travel against this horror backdrop to only find out what the truth is behind it, which is very Scooby Doo.”
“I would make it dangerous and dark and edgy and funny as hell, and then unravel and unpack what’s behind the horror story,” Clark added.
“[Kilpatrick] did say that she would like to do something like that, like a fall season, October-ish,” said Perry.
“I think Season 3 would be really cool if it took place during another season, like maybe the fall,” said Clark.
