A new season of The Floor means all-new categories. Host Rob Lowe introduced them in an exclusive clip, where he shared which one he is interested in and which one he wants nothing to do with.
“This moment is my favorite time of the year. I call it Rob Christmas because I am going to open up the floor and look at the new categories,” Lowe said in the trailer.
Some of the categories that could be seen were “Wine Making,” “Newsweek Covers,” “Photography,” “Eating Competitions,” “MTV Shows,” “Female Olympians,” “Battle Games,” “Baking,” “Weaponry,” “State Animals,” “Martial Arts,” “Zombies,” and more.
Lowe pointed out “MLB” and “Bedroom Items.” The contestant waved as the others groaned and laughed.
“How do I put this?” the host said. “I am very interested in the category.” This made the contestants laugh.
“We also have ‘Chemistry.’ I want nothing to do with you,” Lowe joked.
“Our battle of champions now begins with America’s three favorite words — Activate the Randomizer!” he said.
This season will feature all champions. Whether it is winners of reality TV, food-eating competitions, sports champions, etc., all of the contestants have won something before.
The first episode of Season 6 kicks off on Sunday, September 13 at 8/7c, which is live in all time zones, immediately following the FOX NFL Doubleheader and The OT. Then, the premiere will air again on Wednesday, September 23 at 8/7c and will follow the Wednesday schedule until the end of the season.
Season 6 will also feature a new twist — The Power Shot. “And, of course, new this season, The Power Shot, where you become the human randomizer,” Lowe said in a trailer.
The person who wins this power will have the chance to choose who will go next. This means that no one can hide and the competition is fiercer than ever.
The game show has been renewed for Season 7, but details have not yet been revealed about that season. It is expected to air in the spring, if it follows the pattern of past seasons.
