From the prison industrial complex in Kingstown to the criminal underbelly of London he goes. Mayor of Kingstown star Tobi Bamtefa will star in MobLand Season 2, TV Insider can exclusively confirm.
The British actor stars as a character named Dog, and though character details are slim at this time, we do know he’ll be in leagues with Harry De Souza’s (Tom Hardy) crew, particularly Zosia (Jasmine Jobson), and will have at least one curious little run-in with incoming villain Frankie (Johnny Flynn), based on the first-look photos from the new season.

Bamtefa is known for his regular series role in Mayor of Kingstown as Deverin “Bunny” Washington, a leader of the Crips gang that runs the town who works closely with Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) to ensure that violence both inside and outside of the town’s prisons doesn’t become untenable.
In Season 4 of the Taylor Sheridan drama, Bunny worked with Mike to successfully stage a coup against the newly arrived crime boss, Frank Moses (Lennie James), who came in from Detroit with hopes of seizing power after the elimination of the Russian mafia. Though Frank treated Bunny as a protégé on the surface, he secretly schemed with Bunny’s crewmember Lamar (Zuri James) to assassinate Bunny. Bunny survived but was badly injured and vowed revenge. Ultimately, Frank was duped into being imprisoned, but enemies still abound for Bunny with the Colombian gang.
Mayor of Kingstown Season 5, its final bow, has already been filmed.
MobLand‘s second season is expected to find Harry with his hands full in protecting the Harrigans from their enemies … and themselves. The official description reads, “In Season 2, the Harrigans struggle to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire – and Harry Da Souza, their street-smart and formidable ‘fixer,’ must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify. As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy.”
We’ll have to wait and see how Bamtefa’s Dog fits into that picture when the series returns on Friday, September 18.
