Long Beach investigators seized 30 firearms from a home as part of an ongoing crackdown on the possession and sale of illegal firearms, police announced Thursday.
Detectives with the Long Beach Police Department arrested Roger Alexander Triplett, 34, after learning he may have been selling illegally manufactured weapons and serving a search warrant at his home on East 23rd Street.
According to police, Triplett purchased firearm parts online and assembled firearms at his home.
During the search, detectives recovered 17 rifles and 15 handguns, along with more than 2,000 rounds of ammunition. Body armor was also seized.
Triplett was being held without bail after being booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, importing a short-barreled rifle, illegal possession of an assault weapon, possession of a firearm silencer, sale of a large-capacity magazine, selling firearms without a license, criminal storage of a firearm, violent felon in possession of body armor, child endangerment, and confining an animal without adequate care.
“Through this investigation, detectives recovered numerous weapons that now cannot be used to harm or victimize our community,” Long Beach Police Chief Wally Hebeish said in a statement.
