Firefighters battled a structure fire in Los Angeles’ Chinatown neighborhood on Thursday evening, officials said.
The blaze broke out along North Main Street, just north of downtown LA, around 7 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Officials say it started as an outside fire that extended into a 100-by-200-foot, one-story commercial building. It’s unclear what, if anything, was inside the building.
A knockdown was declared at 8:40 p.m., the LAFD said. No injuries were reported.
The Los Angeles Police Department said traffic was expected to be severely impacted and urged drivers to be cautious in the area.
Arson investigators were requested as the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
This is a developing story.
